Hugues Boisvert is a serial entrepreneur and a business lawyer who practices corporate & tax law with a focus on the creation of various tax-effective structures for the preservation, accumulation and transfer of wealth for entrepreneurs. In this capacity, Hugues represents start ups, family businesses, owners/managers and mid size companies at the regional, provincial, national and international level in a wide range of industries and he advises clients on their legal issue and their day-to-day business issues, including contracts and any other corporate matters. In addition, his areas of practice includes business law, wills, trusts, tax and succession planning with a strong concentration in both corporate and personal tax and estate planning, including the establishment of family trusts, the implementation of testamentary and inter vivos trusts, estate freezes, the execution of holding companies, Section (85) and (86) re-organizations, integrating various insurance vehicles to fund estate plans and the administration of estates and testamentary trusts. In addition, he also assists business clients with matters of incorporation, organization and financing of their companies, the review of commercial leases and the drafting of a wide range of commercial agreements including shareholder, partnership, franchising and purchase agreements. In addition to his law practice, Hugues is the Founder & CEO of the Hazlo Group Inc., a leading strategy and management consulting firm, specializing in the creation and implementation of advisory boards to substantially increase revenue for his corporate clients. Hugues is a business partner with the OCRI Entrepreneurship Centre, and he serves on the United Way Ottawa's Next Generation Cabinet. In addition, he is a frequent quest speaker at the MBA program and the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa. Further, Hugues hosts a popular blog, Ottawa Business Lawyer, which provides tips for business owners, and is also the Founder and President of the Young Business Network of the National Capital Region, and also sits on the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) loan review committee. Hugues holds a civil law degree (LL.L.) from the University of Ottawa and a bachelor in common law (LL.B.) from the University of Moncton, New Brunswick. Prior to entering the private practice, Hugues co-founded an international pharmaceutical company, Cnapsis Inc. Before joining Andrews Robichaud, Hugues worked at the internationally recognized law firm, Crivelli, Grosso & Gorbato, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
